The opening surprise of Constant Spring remains one of the best local restaurant stories I’ve ever covered.

On March 17, 2006, Jason Oswald opened his new place at 219 S. Main St., Goshen. He was a construction worker who had worked to turn an old bar — one of several in Goshen called Ricky’s — into a place with craft beer and local, organic food.
